Our Unicorns
Lacey

Lacey is the original unicorn of Unicorn Academy! She is wise beyond her years, and has been teaching kids to ride her entire life. Her lope is smooth as butter and she is totally in tune and responsive to her riders cues, so it’s easy to see why she’s the top pick for lessons with the Unicorn Academy students. And not to mention she’s quite the knockout with her blonde mane and bangs! It’s easy to fall in love with this sweet and sassy Arabian mare, but the way to her heart is with juicy apples and face rubs.
Fannie

This seasoned pro is our go-to unicorn at Unicorn Academy. Fannie is a calm and gentle Quarter Horse mare, and a dream to ride for kids and adult students alike. She knows how to do it all, English, western, trail, showmanship, the list goes on…..but most importantly she takes extra good care of her riders. She’s the oldest horse at the barn but looks half her age and is healthy as a….horse! When Fannie’s not hanging out with her students, she enjoys long walks in the pasture and watching the sunset with her next door neighbor Tucker.
Dipper

Dipper, a purebred Arabian gelding, is the unanimous champion unicorn at Unicorn Academy! He spent his younger years competing in the Arabian show circuit collecting ribbons and rosettes, so he is a pretty snazzy ride! He still remembers his elite show ring training, but that doesn’t mean he won’t throw in a little buck every now and again to remind you to keep your heels down! He’s the guy that teaches riders who are ready to learn more advanced skills and concepts, but also loves showing beginners how fun it is to ride. His favorite hobbies are escaping from his field and pestering his best friend/ “sister” Lacey.
Dreamer

Dreamer is the homecoming king of Unicorn Academy. All the mares have crushes and all the geldings want to be his friend! This tall and handsome paint gelding is the perfect unicorn for our teen and adult students. He’s flirty, he’s fit, and he’s an absolute blast to ride. Another all-star lesson horse at Unicorn Academy, Dreamer shines in multiple disciplines and in any situation. He loves leading his herd on trails rides and participates in all of the barn events- shows, camps, parties- which certainly pleases all of his adoring horse and human fans. He’s the whole package!
Tucker

A few years ago Tucker moved here from sunny Scottsdale. From the moment he arrived at Unicorn Academy he won a permanent spot in our hearts and herd. Since the big move, he's also made great strides in overcoming his deepest fear- the dreaded Oregon puddles. His sweet nature and gentle soul will win you over immediately. Getting a hug from this love bug will turn any frown upside down, and he never runs out of love to give. But don’t let his sweet demeanor fool you! Tucker is an absolute PRO in and out of the show ring. He knows how to work together with his riders and go for the win! He’s our team captain when Unicorn Academy hits the road for a horse show. An epic ride on this gorgeous Arabian gelding is hard to beat!
Angel

Every unicorn herd needs a pony, and Angel certainly fills those horseshoes at Unicorn Academy! This pint sized cutie is small, but mighty. She’s a girl who isn’t afraid to tell you what she wants and when she wants it! Like all of our unicorns, she is a rockstar for lessons. Angel has a knack for helping our younger students learn how to trot and canter independently. Her approachable size and easy gaits have helped give so many kids greater confidence and abilities in their riding. She’s a treat fanatic and can mow a field faster than any horse twice her size. Her other super power is giving kids rides in the Unicorn Academy cart.
Basko

Meet Basko, our beloved new recruit to the Unicorn Academy team. He retired from a very successful career showing western pleasure and now shares his heart of gold and a sprinkle of mischief with all of his youth riders! His personality is bigger than his fluffy winter coat, and he is sure to bring joy and life to every lesson. Cheeky Basko would never brag about his many national champion titles from back in the day. Maybe he’s humble, or maybe he just doesn’t want you to know how slow he can really lope! But when you learn how to press the right buttons, he turns it right back on and will be the smoothest ride of your life.
